I see this problem every day. It is extremely frustrating. My fingers get
sore from repeated attempts to copy. I am assuming it is a timing problem
as well.

YES, YES, YES!!!
I've told MapInfo about this problem for several releases now, but they say
they cannot reproduce the problem on their end. I'm usually trying to paste
just cells of data across rows in tables (one at a time, of course), or
copy/paste info to/from
Someone suggested that it takes the MI Pro interface too long to realize
that the field can send/receive clipboard data (because it is restructuring
active or disabled menu bar or items or whatever), and we work faster than
that.
