If your interested in more free Canadian data here's a couple of resources
for you:
Soils, agriculture and CLI data at
http://res.agr.ca/CANSIS/NSDB/_overview.html
Geogratis at (Oops they seem to have moved their site argh*%^$%@ - I can't
keep up with where and when these resources are moving!!. Why is it that
the government sites seem to have to relocate their entire on-line
collection every 6 months... and then not leaving a trail behind!!) If
anyone knows where they are could you let me know.. cheers
Geogratis has loads of 1:250,000 scale data (its a little dated though) but
after listening to their reps at GIS99 this year they are into starting
some nice data sharing and opportunities for cooperation in developing
value added products.
These and many more Canadian (and US) data pointers can be found by
starting out at the http://www.SpatialNews.com website then going to the
"old" site by entering the "GIS resources" area. Once there go to the
"on-line data" page at the following
http://www.coastnet.com/~letham/gisfacts091.html
Here you will find loads of pointers (excuse any old or broken links please!)
New finds are generally introduced in the monthly mapping newsletter which
you can also request by emailing to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hope this helps any of you data seeking hounds
Regards
Glenn
