For this type of data transfer I have developed a little tool ('GarFile'),
but this only works with Garmin receivers. Waypoints and trackpoints can
be directly downloaded from the GPS unit into MIF files, and MIF files can
conversely be uploaded into the waypoint list of the GPS device. This can
be useful when a permanent data transfer with an attached portable PC is
not practical. Have now made this tool available for free download at
http://www.icsinger.de/freeware.htm
It is still sort of a beta version and I'd appreciate any test reports
and comments, especially reports about compatibility with the various
types of Garmin receivers.

Christian Singer
