Emne: Running MI Basic in Kedit

<<Fil: ATT00007.htm>>
Dear GISers: I used KEDIT for my general program code editor, usually SAS, etc since
editors in these programs (like MapBasic) are so limited. I want to be able to run the
file I am working on in MapBasic. In Kedit there is a WINEXEC command that allows one
to run a WINDOWS program, so on the command line I can run "WINEXED notepad" and
notepad appears. Can this sort of thing be done in MapBasic? What do I put where
"notepad" is on the example and get back what I would have gotten if I had run it in
MapBasic?

Also I recall that there was a Canadian fellow who was producing a small book on
MapBasic with hints, etc, and I even contacted him but there were problems with
getting payment to him, etc, and since he has dropped off my radar screen. If you are
out there, I'd like to hear from you. (I really need all the hints and instruction I
can get..!)

Finally I am working in 5.5 now, performance seems drastically better.

Thanks a lot
