Anglo American Plc is looking for an accomplished GIS-Database Geoscientist to join the Europe-Asia Exploration Division in London. The successful candidate should have 5+ years of practical GIS-database experience in mineral exploration or a closely related field, a thorough knowledge of map production using the MapInfo GIS with the Discover exploration software, relational database manipulations with Microsoft Access or similar, and presentation graphics using Microsoft PowerPoint or similar. Day-to-day activities will include production of maps to scale using various digital exploration data types including geological maps, mineral occurrences, geochemical samples, drilling data, and raster geophysics and satellite imagery. Other responsibilities will include liasing with analytical laboratories, data cataloguing, and preparation of presentation graphics. The position is offered on a contract basis with a competitive salary commensurate with experience and ability. Candidates currently based in the London area are strongly favoured.
