Ever get frustrated with a new piece of software that you get so
confused and all the naming and functions are located in different
places? What a pain the you know what. I have another question. I
ma trying to create a regional maintenance area map for the field
services division of ARINC. The maintence areas are divided into
regions named Northeast, eastern, central and etc. They are comprised
of the boundaries of regional states. I have been able to easily
select out and make a new layer of one of the regions, but I need to
get rid of the internal state boundaries and leave just the outside
boundary. I can convert the objects (states) to polylines and select
and delete the necessary nodes that i do ot need, but I am still left
with a line that connects the first and last nodes that are left over
after the deletion of the unwanted nodes.
I know in Arc/Info, its a simple dissovle command and it will get rid
of the inside lines. Is there a similar command in MI that will do
the same. I hate to bother you with this question,, but my books on
MI are absolutely useless for this type of editing.
Thanks,
Todd
