You can buy national topographic data from Natural Resources Canada, center
for topographic information in Sherbrooke, Qu�bec. Check their site at :
http://www.ccg.rncan.gc.ca/ext/html/english/products/ntdb/ntdb.html
You can buy one or more mapsheets in MapInfo format (translated from CCOGIF
format).
Unfortunately, this information is not free, since this department is on
cost-recovery program.
If you would like to see samples of this data let me know and I can send you
some samples (or you can get some from the site I have mentioned above). We
are currently in the process of integrating a lot of this data into an
internet application for one of our client, the Treasury Board of Canada.
Check the following site: http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/dfrp/
Select the menu maps - Map Navigator. This application has data for the
praieries and NWT.
