This problem arises when tables have not been committed following edits.
make sure you
save your tables. Somewhere there is a place where you can increase the
number of file handles - but
I can't remember where - sorry. Also if all queries are not needed at the
same time try using select
into mytemptabname and reusing this temporary query table name over as this
is more efficient with
computer resources.

We are GIS programmers. We've been developing an application by MapBasic
4.12. This application operates on MapInfo 4.1. After several operations, we
meet an error "Too many files open!". This error happens when we open more
than 50 tables at the same time, and we make some queries. Even though, We
have closed each query after we finish working with it, but we still meet
that error.
If any one has a solution, please help us!.
