Paul;
I do this on a regular basis for miscellaneous file structures. My tip is
to use a database such as Access, To do this, simply create a database
table, and then just import the files one at a time using the File | Get
External Data | Import function. This requires only a few quick mouse
clicks. You can even have Access create the table when you import the first
file. I have used this technique of building tables for years (since the
days of Dbase to be exact) and find it to be much faster and more reliable
than using a spreadsheet of text editor. You could also use MapInfo to
bring in the individual tables, but that will require a bit more work than
the database technique.
The other option would be to write some code to do this automatically, but
that may take longer than the "brute force' approach for small jobs.
However, if you plan to do this regularly, writing a program to merge the
data would be the better choice.

Subject: RE: CSV format batch import into MI
HI,
I was wondering if there is a utility out there that will allow the
batch importation of a number of CSV files into a single MI table. I
appreciate that they can be imported individually then combined but I have
a
series of over 150 to import and this makes the process very time
consuming.
I do not have an internet connection so am unable to search the ftp site
therefore I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thanks in advance
