As a quick note I recently uploaded a tool that was developed for me by
mapinfo-l subscriber Huseyin Korkmaz with his kind permission. It was
originally developed to undertake an evaluation of the number of points
where a path met a road and would have required signposting. My problem was
complicated by the paths on the path table often fell short of meeting the
road line in the road table. This has been solved by the tool allows the
user to select a variable buffer around the roadline and then creates a new
table for the points the paths intersect the buffer perimeter. If you are
interested check out

The zip file contains a smaple sample of data and a user guide and is
presently under 'new tools'

happy mapping

Adrian
