Yep, I guess sudo wasn't enough. Now that I have mapnik working and the output is looking good, is there a comprehensive set of docs anywhere? Or some more detailed and complex tutorials than are on the wiki? Or do I have to go through the list archives? Are their any recipes for the examples seen in the online examples?
I'm trying to make a very large, very cartographically nice GeoTIFF to pass into http://www.klokan.cz/projects/gdal2tiles/ to make a static OpenLayers site but I can't even figure out how to add labels to my polygons using mapnik.
