I'm using mapnik on a linux machine now for a while. Now I tried to use it on a WinXP machine. The installation is working fine. I started to render the same dataset with the same map file as on linux but the result was surprising. Here is a sample of a render on linux: http://terkep.hostcity.hu/image_nix.png and here is the same area rendered on windows: http://terkep.hostcity.hu/image_win.png. Well, the river is not flooding. Actually the river is one polygon and the island inside is a hole in the polygon. In the "hole" there are some reservation and forest polygons also. The data is not from OSM. I dont know if one can draw a polygon like this with potlach or josm.
