Not possible when there are more "shield"* types/colours than posible highway values. * They're actually rectangles, but the word "shield" will do. We have (so far) blue, green, red, orange, another green, yellow and purple. We just cannot map those shield colours into the current highway=motorway, trunk, primary, secondary, tertiary scheme. 7 colours vs 5 highway values = no way. > There are some cases (the US for example) where road designation is a > complete mess and it may need more specific tagging though. And little flags *inside* a letter inside the reference number. Geez. Anyway, why are we discussing OSM tagging stuff in the mapnik lists?
