Hi,

I have a working Mapnik installation somewhere at home on my Vista laptop. It
was rather painful to get working but I managed in it with some help from
Mapnik mailing list and off-list. I try to see from old mails if I can find
some help for you. My Mapnik has been idle for some time now and I have not
bothered to think about it lately.

When it comes to the sea, coastline dataset is land polygons. The sea is all
blue on the bottom, over that comes these land polygons and next all the other
data. Thus you are now rendering only an empty canvas.
