It appears that something has changed about text or icon placement in mapnik
0.7.
I am drawing a rectangular icon in one layer and then I am writing some text
on it with
<TextSymbolizer name="name" face_name="DejaVu Sans Bold" size="9"
fill="#242424" dx="-1" dy="0" allow_overlap="true"/>
In mapnik 0.6 the text would show in the correct position with dy=-1. In
mapnik 0.7 it appeared higher (or the icon lower), so text is mostly outside
the rectangle.
When I change dy to 0, the text jumps 6 pixels down and is inside. While
some texts are exactly in the right place, some are still off by 1 pixel.
When I change dy to 1, the text appears completely below the rectangle.
Was there a deliberate change in text placement in 0.7?
What is the unit for dx/dy? I would have expected pixels, but it seems to be
more like steps of 6 pixels.
Why does the exact location differ for different texts?
How can I get an exact text placement?
