Hey folks, I want to draw a set of points, allowing overlap (ala <PointSymbolizer allow_overlap="1">), and then label them with a TextSymbolizer where I can. Currently, the text placement seems to identify collisions with the points, so no labels get placed at all.
Using a ShieldSymbolizer will only draw points when it can place labels (or draw overlapping labels when I set allow_overlap), so that doesn't do what I need to. Is using 2x layers the right option (this is all programmatic so I'd prefer not doing that) or does this fall under http://trac.mapnik.org/ticket/564 , or is a new thing altogether? Rob :)
