Hey, fellow Mapnik users/developers. As some of you might know, PyCon US 2011, the ultimate Python conference is going to be held in Atlanta, GA on March 9th trough 17th. There're going to be a lot of talks, but I'd like to turn your attention the tutorial I'm going to give on 9th of March (see short detail-free description here -- http://us.pycon.org/2011/schedule/presentations/64/). It's going to be focused around building tile server from scratch using OpenStreetMap data and Mapnik as the main building blocks. So, if you're new to Mapnik or want to learn its Python bindings, this tutorial might be of great interest to you. If you want to attend but feel like this is too simple for you, there's another tutorial (or rather workshop) which will be held on 9th of March -- http://us.pycon.org/2011/schedule/presentations/144/ Just looking at the description makes me think that this going to be one intence workshop, with lots of coding.
So, if you're going to be in Atlanta in the middle of March and want to start with/get deeper into Mapnik and OpenStreetMap then I think both these tutorials are a great way to spend your day (and money). Drop me a line in case you have any specific question regarding tutorials, otherwise check out other tutorials[1], talks[2] and pricing scheme[3]. Yes, I know, this is a shameless advertising, but Dane said it was ok. Didn't you, Dane? ;) -- Wbr, Andrii V. Mishkovskyi. I have the last page code of rocket launch program in NASA written in Lisp: ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) _______________________________________________ Mapnik-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/mapnik-users
