Hi

i tried to install mapnik2 on ubuntu 10.04 last week. I thought it was going
ok, but I can´t import the mapnik library in python and it seems that the
boost
version needed for mapnik2 isnt provided by the ubuntu 10.04 repositories.

I would like to remove mapnik2 from my system and build mapnik instead, but
can
not find any information regarding the removal of the application.

I tried scons.py uninstall...but this give the error...

scons: *** No SConstruct file found.
File "/src/mapnik/scons/scons-local-1.2.0/SCons/Script/Main.py", line 826, in
_main

Postgresql and psotgis are installed and i would like to leave them on my
system
as they are.
Can anyone advise me on how to remove mapnik2 which would enable a reinstall of

mapnik?

ps. I have python 2.7 installed on my system. does this version work with
python1?
thanks for any replies,

Robert Buckley
