I agree that it is not a bug, and it helps find bugs in OSM, but I think it
can be quite a mess until all possible prefixes are present in maposmatic
database.
Imagine a place that doesn't have its language support in maposmatic - it
would be quite a mess (prefixes not postfixed).
That feature is useful for contributors, but it's just another nuisance for
someone wanting to just see a slick map (besides having the list sorted wrong
because of prefixes).
Another approach is to assume all names starting with a lowercase character
to have a prefix.
