Apparently this is no longer a problem. At least I couldn't reproduce on
http://maposmatic.org/new/ as of today.
Roma refused to rendered because of the size of the area, but Milano did:
http://maposmatic.org/jobs/13811.
Please re-open if I'm mistaken here.
