Only marginally relevant to this discussion, but I noticed that the (existing) 
Mapper.Context object in MapTask is constructed via reflection. I think it's 
possible to create one directly like this:

Mapper mapper = ...
Mapper.Context mapperContext = mapper.new Context(...);
{code}

Same for Reducer.Context.
