I agree with Hemanth, I'd suggest a minor variation of his idea:
I'd add a JobInProgress.getTasks(TaskType type) in-lieu of
JobInProgress.get{Map|Reduce|Setup|Cleanup} etc. and call it so:

for (TaskInProgress tip : job.getTasks(type)) {
for (TaskAttemptID taskAttemptId : tip.getAllTaskAttemptIds()) {
