The sanitized pom.xml in target directory apparently triggered a bug in
NetBeans (http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198162) causing it to
fail to recognize the generated sources. The work-around is to rename the
generated pom.xml to saner-pom.xml
