Allen Wittenauer commented on MAPREDUCE-3000:
---------------------------------------------
Why?
Moving a system directory into the middle of the users is going to make
manipulating quotas MUCH harder, especially for high population grids.
It sounds like 203 shipping with /user/mapred is a bug, not this one.
> Move /mapred to /user/mapred for Hadoop 0.20.205

> /mapred directory should be default to /user/mapred. Owen request this to be
> changed for RPM deployment in 0.20.204. This is a regression in 0.20.205
> that /user/mapred is configured back to /mapred.
