Will L commented on MAPREDUCE-3576:
-----------------------------------

Hi Harsh,
You're very welcome. I really like using the Hadoop Eclipse Plugin under OS X
Snow Leopard and 3.7.1 with Hadoop 0.20.205.0.

The potentials in particular which you mentioned
[HADOOP-7489|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-7489], according to
the Hadoop documentation packaged with Hadoop 1.0.0, they recommend adding the
following in your conf/hadoop-env.sh which I have set:
export HADOOP_OPTS="-Djava.security.krb5.realm=OX.AC.UK
-Djava.security.krb5.kdc=kdc0.ox.ac.uk:kdc1.ox.ac.uk"

I came across this issue before and after doing a lot of Google-ing, this was
not the main cause of my Eclipse Hadoop Plugin not working.

I will work on when trying to figure out how to debug the Eclipse runtime when
the Hadoop Plugin tries to access Hadoop. I'm not too sure how to do that
myself, but I'll see what I can come up with. Hopefully some other Hadoop
Eclipse users can add their thoughts and comments on this JIRA issue as well.

Thank you very much for your time, help and response! I'm really hoping that
this issue can get resolved so I can start doing Hadoop under OS X Lion using
Eclipse 3.7.1 and the latest version of Hadoop.

> Hadoop Eclipse Plugin doesn't work in OS X Lion.
