I've reverted this. The HDFS build has been red (due to An Ant BuildException
has occured in the hdfs raid project) since this was committed a month ago, the
test still fails consistently (HDFS-3554) and the findbugs warnings have not
been resolved (HDFS-3563). This patch needs more love before it's ready to go
in.
