I agree with you, however, the document
(http://hadoop.apache.org/docs/r2.6.0/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-common/Compatibility.html#Hadoop_Configuration_Files)
says
bq. Hadoop-defined properties are to be deprecated at least for one major
release before being removed. Modifying units for existing properties is not
allowed.
My question is: The sentences are applicable for unused properties? I'd like to
discuss this issue in dev ML.
