-----------------------------------------------
    Resolution: Won't Fix

Long past when it was needed.

The SIGTERM+SIGKILL functionality has largely been running in production
clusters of both Hadoop 1.x and 2.x lines.

Closing as Won't Fix.

> HADOOP-2721 added TestKillSubProcesses to test that all the processes
> descending from a task are cleaned up with a SIGTERM when task finishes. The
> functionality to eventually send a SIGKILL to processes that ignore SIGTERM
> is already in place, but we don't have a test verifying this yet.
