Resolution: Won't Fix
We haven't done a 1.x release in ~2 years. Unlikely this issue is going to be
fixed/released.
This is less of a concern in 2.x, ResourceManager isn't that heavy on memory
usage. We can file a new ticket when needed.
Closing this as Won't Fix. Please revert back if you disagree. Thanks.
