Federico, my appologies from not seeing it earlier. GeoHack (which is what
uses maps from ruwiki), pulls templates and javascript from ruwiki, and
uses it to show the map. So for example, when you click on the geo
coordinates in the upper right corner of this article:
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%97%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C%D1%86%D0%B1%D1%83%D1%80%D0%B3

it takes you to this link:
https://tools.wmflabs.org/geohack/geohack.php?language=ru&pagename=%D0%97%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C%D1%86%D0%B1%D1%83%D1%80%D0%B3&params=47_48_0_N_13_2_0_E_type:city_scale:100000

>From looking over what Putnik has done, geohack was modified via two pages:
*
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A8%D0%B0%D0%B1%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%BD:GeoTemplate
* https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:GeoHack.js

Eventually I am hoping that we won't need to use this complicated approach,
once Kartographer is implemented
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Kartographer  For now, map tiles
only work if requested from the *.wmflabs.org and *.wikivoyage.org domains.
