I have been using a MS4W setup for some time and have finally talked the people I worked for to let me set up a testing server on a linux box. This has worked out great as all of the maps have had a massive speed gain compared to windows. However I have a problem with the ttf symbols. They will display normally in windows but only one will display in linux. I am sure it is a simple issue but I have not been able to find it. The linux set up is HostGIS which uses Slackware 12 and I believe Mapserver 5.2 anyone have any suggestions?
A common issue to look for when porting apps from Windows to Linux is case sensitivity in filenames and paths: Windows is case-insensitive, and Linux/Unix is case-sensitive. I'd suggest you double-check your TTF filenames and paths.
