It looks like my GDAL is out of date. 'gdal --version' reports:
GDAL 1.6.0dev, FWTools 2.0.6, released 2008/02/03
'gdalinfo --formats' does not list SRP as a supported format.
My GDAL came as part of FWTools. I will attempt to update GDAL and try
again.
