Thank you so very much! It worked perfectly! Dara ----- Original Message ----- From: Fawcett, David (MPCA) To: Dara Olson ; [email protected] Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2010 9:44 AM Subject: RE: [mapserver-users] problems defining outline width using min/max
Dara, Take a look at SYMBOLSCALEDENOM in the LAYER block. This defines the scale at which the line appears 'normal' sized. You may also need to define a WIDTH in the style. For the value in SYMBOLSCALEDENOM, if you want this scale to be 1:10,000 the value would be 10000. Since scales in Web maps are somewhat relative, you will likely take a good guess at a value and then experiment with how it is rendered and tweak the value if needed. David. We are using MapServer 5.2.1 and I am having some problems with defining a polygon outline. I would like the polygon outline to have widths so that when you zoom in it stays wide, but is not too wide when you are zoomed all the way out. I thought I might be able to do this with min/max widths (see below), but it does not seem to change compared to if I just have the width defined as 2.2. Is there a way to do this? Should I be using something other than pixels or should I group into min/max scales? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dara ...
