Hi,

yes, you have to define an image symbol in your symbolset and use that:

SYMBOL
  NAME 'church'
  TYPE pixmap
  IMAGE 'church.gif'
  TRANSPARENT 5
END

then use
SYMBOL 'church' in your style.
