Hi Jukka, I appreciate your interest and understand your point. However in my case I have an image of global extent, but I want to restrict the portion of it that's available to the WMS request. I'd hoped that the EXTENT element at the MAP and/or LAYER levels would do this. Since that doesn't work, I'm trying a workaround of using an inline FEATURE to mask out all but the area I wish to expose. I'm using the "STATUS default" because I cannot depend on the user to specify the mask layer w/ each request.
