I'm curious if anyone knows why WMS is SOOO much faster when I am loading my maps through a map (OpenLayers) than it is when I just try to pull a single tile directly through my brower and a WMS url?
It seems like the server takes forever when I just enter a WMS URL into my browser's address bar, but when I load the same WMS map through OpenLayers its so much faster, despite loading all those seperate tiles individually instead of just the one I'm requesting in the browser. Any ideas?
