thanks michael and marco. ms4w does include apache and php though. in the past, i removed its apache and php, and installed their latest releases separately. just looking to avoid doing that again. at a minimum, get a x64 windows binary of ms4w. for now, http://vbkto.dyndns.org/sdk/ looks like a good bet.
