Jukka, While I don't have a direct answer to your question, the binaries from gisinternals are fine for testing out beta releases, as for the time being we haven't branched off a 6.4 branch. Once we have branched and master gets updtaed for 7.0 features, I agree that having dedicated 6.4 binaries will be needed.
