I have come very confused. I changed the projection of the data in EPSG:3857, but the coordinates of the points are still in EPSG:4326. Bad mistake!
I will tell you about next error when I fixed everything.

If you get an image then at least no error is being generated. Are you sure the layer you’re trying to view is on? There’s a switch in shp2img to turn on a layer or you can set STATUS DEFAULT in the layer definition.

looks like this is a png-image. Have you tried to open this file with an
image-viewer?
