The first MapServer conference was in 2003 at the University of Minneapolis. Memorable, if only because that was the first time we all saw what Steve Lime really looked like (baseball hat, can of coke, shorts). There was no Facebook in those days, and all technical sites where strictly alphanumeric. It certainly was the nicest conference of my life. I saved its web page at:

https://mapserver.site/conferences/2003/mum/ (not all links work)

See what subjects were considered important back then, and especially, of course, the photographs at the top.

Cheers!

The MapServer team is thrilled to announce the release of MapServer 8.4.0

Details of the new features, changelog, migration instructions, and download links can be found on the dedicated announcement page at https://mapserver.org/development/announce/8-4.html . Also included is an updated 1,137 page PDF of documentation, and of course an updated & maintained (so important) demo server of various OGC instances at https://demo.mapserver.org

Thanks for all of your feedback and passion for MapServer.
