[UMN_MAPSERVER-USERS] Performance enhancements...?

I'm curious if there is any documentation regarding performance issues.   While I've used shptree to greatly improve performance (I'm curious why it isn't done by default).  I'm just wondering if there are any other hidden ways to tweak performance.   Thanks,   - Eric Brown
