G'day. I see references in postings and doco to fonts.list as what looks like a mechanism for telling mapserver where to find truetype fonts but I cannot find anything to tell me the format of this file.
The recent paper on cartographic symbols refers to "the ALIAS name of the font file to the parameter FONT as defined in the file fonts.list". What does this mean? I have a pretty full set of truetype fonts installed and use them successfully with other software but have no file called fonts.list anywhere on the system. Is this maybe a windows-specific thing? If so, how does one use truetype fonts with mapserver under Linux?
