Sorry for yet another repost, solution: ## Create internal tiles gdal_translate -co TILED=YES old.tif new_tiled.tif ## cut out a chunk of an image, assigning appropriate georeferencing ## as always gdal uses top left and lower right corners of the image gdal_translate -srcwin 0 0 2000 2000 in.tif out_0_0.tif gdal_translate -srcwin 2000 0 2000 2000 in.tif out_1_0.tif ... ...
