Hi,
some weeks ago there was a question like this on this list, if I
understand your question right. The answer was to use LABELANGLEITEM
with the name of a data column in the dbf-file.
In between I used this in an application and it works good. I use an
annotation layer with this command LABELANGLEITEM .

Greetings list,
Am trying to label point objects from a SHP file in MapServer and have
them appear at an angle drawn from an attribute column. I notice that
ANGLE AUTO only works with LINE objects and that ANGLEITEM is only
defined in the STYLE object. Is there a way in the Map file to get these
working together so the LABEL>ANGLE object uses the values defined in
STYLE>ANGLEITEM? I have had a look through the online doco and have not
come across a way to do this.
Many thanks in advance for help provided!
Regards
