This issue seems to be related to what is reported in bugs :
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=2021 and
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=2045
They are still open issues but should be fixed before the next release.
