Open the Dataview in for your data, click on "Edit", select "Modify
Data" and select (highlite) the Zipcode variable, and change the Type
specification from Integer or real to Character and set the number of
characters as appropriate (either 5, 9 or whatever) for your data and
then click the "OK" button. You will then get a pop-up window from
Maptitude to confirm your file change, click "Yes" and then your table
with zipcodes should work.
This is all in the User Manual, as well as described in the on-line
help in Maptitude, folks!

Beezer,
I've have the same problem of Maptitude not reading my zip codes. How
do you go about defining your zip codes as character data? Thank you.

Hi There! I'm trying to bind a dataview (Census) to my datagrid.
Anybody knows which caliper method i sbetter suited for this? Maybe
GetView?
I created a view of the data I am interested on, saved it as
MyView.dvw, and now I need to load it selecting by city. I'm creating
a new web page with VB.Net. Thanks!

I have a file with three fields: local number, zipcodes, and
membership numbers. It's in a .txt, no hidden "this is a number or
text" to it, just three fields.
When I try to map my own data, I get a notice that my data does not
contain zip codes. I'm simply clicking on new map, map my own data.
Not doing anything with dataviews or anything.
I didn't have this problem at first, but the more I played with
maptitude the more finicky it got.
Any ideas?

Your zip code data needs to be defined as character data in order to
match (geocode) with zipcode pt file or street address file. Once you
redefine the field, the program will recognize it.
