Subject: [Maptitude] Merging Layers

Sometimes I have multiple layers that I want to combine into one.
Unfortunately, there is no "merge layers" function built in to
Maptitude.

Here's a solution: Export each layer to MapInfo Interchange format.
Two files will be created, one with a .mid extention, one with .mif.

They're text files. One is the lat/long; the other is the data. Just
open them up in a text editor and paste them all into one document.
The data items are in sequential order, so make sure they're all
pasted in the same sequence. The first column in the mid file needs
to be numbered sequentially; each mid file will start at 1 and go up,
so the added records need to be renumbered.

I've only done it with point files, which work really well. Lines or
polygons might be harder.
