Hi Bob,

What I remember was I did not use the layout functions but printed directly from the *.map file. Font's sizes were reduced beforehand. If you visit the Univ of Iowa GIS lab you can see the wall covered with USGS orthophoto maps overlaid with contour graphics (Des Moines urban area) and Maptitude labels. We also used the windows metafile concept to export the images to microsoft office products w/o reduction in quality. Regards, Rudy.

A0 is about the same as Arch E.

Either you must have found some capabilities in Maptitude that I can
only dream of, or else your standards are a lot lower.

For instance, when you have 170 point text on your mapper window, how
do you keep it from obscuring the entire map?

When you want to move a symbol exactly 3.2mm to the left, how do you
accomplish that?

When you need to rotate a street label 2 degrees, how do you do that?

What printer do you have that handles tranasparency correctly?

How do you get your legends to not have, for instance 3.2 miles
(instead of 3.0 miles) for the scale bar?

Bob
