Hi Mike,

I'm leaving for Las Vegas, after work today but I'll try to post something Monday or Tuesday (Unless of course I hit it big on the slots). You can get an idea from my product page on my website (wwww.huntmap.com), all our maps are published using Corel.

As for programs that manipulate the elements of the PDF, I can only speak to the two products that I've used Corel and Adobe Illustrator. Obviously, AI works well with PDF and although I tend to stick with raster maps, I have imported PDF into Corel. Corel imports the PDF  vectorizes and allows you to layer and manipulate; line attributes, colors, font size/color, etc.. I have two computers that I use; one I built from scratch using a AMD 2.7 GHz, 2GB Ram and the other is a laptop a HP Pavillion Z5000, P4, 1GB ram and there's a huge difference in loading speed, Both have equal video cards. I recommend getting as much Ram as possible. The busier (lots of lines and labels) the map the longer it takes to load a PDF into Corel but simple wire frame maps load fast.

I'm picking favorites because I've found Corel easier to use, but I need to give a shout out to my peeps, who are keeping it real with Adobe.

Viktor: would like to see some samples of your Maptitude maps that
were finised in Corel Draw.  Could you post a sample?

Also, any good program that can manipulate the elements of the pdf
(ie: thicken lines; change colors), other than Adobe Illustrator?
