Location Boston, MA Introductory Maptitude August 21 Intermediate Maptitude August 22 Further Maptitude August 23 Caliper training is the fast, cost-effective way to learn how to make the most of your Maptitude software investment. The three days of training are aimed at every type of user. Participants will learn the fundamentals of Maptitude and related GIS concepts, along with how to use demographic data including detailed Census information. The course also covers skills and tools valuable to both new and experienced users of Maptitude. These range from learning how to use the mapping and geographic analysis tools to being taught how to make full use of Maptitude with external data sources and software such as Access databases, satellite images, GPS, elevation models, Internet links, and Microsoft Windows applications. Below are the overviews for each day of training: Overview Day 1: Introductory Maptitude Use Create-a-Map Wizard to quickly map locations and data Learn about the demographic, social, economic, and housing Census data Learn how you can use Maptitude to map and analyze data Visualize your data using thematic and prism maps Access Shapefiles, Tab files, Excel spreadsheets, and other data sources Use powerful database capabilities to organize, analyze, and manage your data Add map features, locate facilities, assign customers, determine adjacency and find the best routes Overview Day 2: Intermediate Maptitude Use selection tools to answer questions such as: Which ZIP Codes have the highest incomes? Modify tables and perform database joins Map only your area of interest for analysis and display Present your data using charts and report layouts Locate your data by address, ZIP Code, value, or city/state Create customized market areas or districts, such as sales territories or delivery zones Use GIS analytical tools: create buffers, overlays, areas of influence, and "hot-spot" density grids Use Calipers innovative population estimates and Census data Table Chooser Overview Day 3: Further Maptitude Learn how to edit your data and also learn valuable map display and styling tips Learn how to link to your maps in Word documents and other Windows programs Link to multimedia sources such as site photos and documents simply by clicking on a map feature Use photo and satellite images, and map data stored in Oracle and Microsoft Access databases Use powerful surface analysis and 3D tools Learn how to use a GPS with Maptitude Understand projections and coordinate systems By attending the training you gain access to experienced and knowledgeable Caliper staff who can aid you with your immediate project, analysis, and data needs.
